The Owls Flag Football team brought home its first ever CSAA Region 1 Championship on Saturday by defeating their arch rivals, the OWNCS Falcons, by a score of 24-12. The Owls victory was led by touchdowns from captains Chaydin Pace and Elijah Castillo, as well as a key score from Elias Ochoteco. Mykel Kelley was smooth in his first ever start at QB, throwing the game clinching touchdown to Castillo with five minutes to go in the game. The defense played its strongest game of the season, as Giovanni Vilchez had an interception and Joshua Drummonds made tackles all over the field. It was a total team effort and the coaches along with the school community are so proud of this teams accomplishments thus far.
However, their work is not done yet – The Owls now move on to play Region 2 Champion Inwood Academy on December 3rd as they continue their quest to win the CSAA New York City Championship. The Flag Football team would also like to thank the CSEE Cheerleading team for all of their support throughout the season, and wishes them the best of luck in their upcoming competition on December 3rd.
GO OWLS!!!
